"PHOTO TALK: One Icon - 1000 Words"  - Project Description: One youth exchange. 3 different dimensions. What is the meaning of image in our life? What is the photo’s historical and technical basic secrets?
In the multilateral youth exchange “Photo talk: one icon – 1000 words!” will participate 18-25 years old youngsters, as well as youngsters with fewer opportunities (social, economical and geographical obstacles) from 6 different European countries (Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Italy, Romania and Poland) – 4 participants and 1 leader from each country. The youth exchange will take place in Greece - Athens, from 30th April till 10th May, 2011.
This Youth exchange includes 3 different dimensions which interacting each other. During the first days we will concentrate to the meaning of image in our life. Next step will be to develop photo’s historical and technical basic secrets through photo “evolution” from the first black and white picture till digital photo today. Trough these activities, project will promote both practical and creative skills of youngsters working with photo in different workshops. These tools, youngsters will also use to express their feelings and impressions in intercultural context during the whole project. In the end phase youngsters will work in team to prepare the exhibition of their own-made photos in some public places in Athens and after –showing in pictures cultural interaction between all 5 participating countries. All activities will be organized practicing non-formal education methods, creative and practical scopes of photo. Through photos in different techniques, youngsters will create an intercultural dialogue in pictures without being necessary to speak the same language. As an outcome of the exchange youngsters will create a colourful calendar for 2012 year with the best 12 photos taken and some interesting cultural facts.

The official working language will be English.

1. As you already know there are intercultural nights included in the daily program.
You will have the opportunity to introduce your country to the others by cultural program which will represent your country. It means providing information about the customs and habits, traditions and rituals (if applicable ), culture and history.
It´s up to each team what programme they prepare, what way they will present their countries. We don't want you to bring anything special to eat but if you like, we will arrange also access for you in the kitchen...Drinks are another chapter..:) But in particularly for this evenings We want the games you play in your country, music, dances and everything you think is appropriate....traditional or not for a party.

2. Icebreakers, warm-ups, and energizers
Every day the warm up/ icebreaker, energizer will be done from a nation, so please prepare a warm up session!
By ‘warming up’ the group with enjoyable icebreakers or energizers, trainers help
participants to relax, be more responsive, and participate more positively.
The energizers will be used frequently during the project, whenever people will look sleepy or tired.

Icebreakers help the participants play and learn together and set the stage for
continued exchange together. Warm-up activities are usually used to begin a sessionon a positive note or to ‘recharge’ if the group’s energy seems to be low. Somegroups begin with a simple stretching exercise to get warmed up. At other times, energizers may be introduced. Even when people are interested and concernedabout the subject being covered, they can get tired and sleepy. Energizersgive people a quick break and may add some humour, contributing to a positive group spirit.
